Do Not Sell My Information

You can tell us not to share your personal information for targeted advertising. This page explains what that means at Diaels, what we actually do with your information, and the three ways to opt out. It takes about a minute.

What selling and sharing mean here

Diaels does not sell your personal information for money. We never have.

What we do is narrower, and several US state privacy laws still count it. When you browse the site, cookies and similar technologies record what you looked at, and some of that is shared with advertising partners so the ads you see elsewhere are relevant rather than random. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar laws in other states, that sharing can be treated as a sale or a share even though no money changes hands.

We would rather say that plainly than hide behind the fact that nobody paid us.

What we do not do

We do not sell or share the details you give us to buy something. Your name, address, phone number, email, order history and payment details are used to take your order, make your piece, ship it, handle a return and answer you when you write in. They are not sold, and they are not handed to advertising partners.

We do not have access to your full card number at any point. Payment is handled by our payment providers.

How to opt out

Any one of these works. You do not need to do all three.

1. Use the opt-out form

The quickest route is the form on our Your Privacy Choices page. It takes effect on that browser straight away. If you also enter your email there, the account attached to that email is opted out too.

2. Turn on Global Privacy Control

If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we read it as an opt-out request for that browser and act on it. You do not need to tell us separately. Some browsers have this built in and some need an extension.

3. Write to us

Email hello@diaels.com with the subject "Do not sell or share my information", or post a request to Diaels, 3 Peach Court, Edison, NJ 08817. Tell us the email address on your account so we can find you.

Opting out once does not cover every device

This is the part people get caught by, so it is worth saying clearly. The form and the Global Privacy Control signal both work at the level of the browser you are using. Opting out on your phone does not opt out your laptop, and clearing your cookies can undo it on that browser.

If you want the opt-out to follow you rather than the device, give us your email on the form or write to us, and we will apply it to your account.

What happens after you opt out

We stop sharing your information with advertising partners for targeted advertising.

You will still see ads from us, they will just be based on less about you. You will still get the emails you asked for, and nothing about your orders, your returns or your warranty changes.

How we check who you are

If you write to us rather than using the form, we may need to confirm it is really your information you are asking about. We normally do that by matching the email address you write from against the one on your account, or by asking for an order number.

We ask for as little as possible, and we do not use anything you send for verification for any other purpose.

Someone else asking on your behalf

You can have an authorised agent make the request for you. We will ask for written proof that you gave them permission, and we may still contact you directly to confirm it.

We will not treat you differently

Opting out costs you nothing. No higher price, no worse service, no loss of any discount you were entitled to, no slower shipping. It is your information and the choice is yours.

People under 16

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe we hold information about a child, write to hello@diaels.com and we will remove it.

Your other privacy rights

Depending on where you live you may also be able to ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Those requests go to the same address and are handled the same way.

Getting in touch

Email hello@diaels.com and a person will read it. We answer within two business days, and we complete opt-out and privacy requests within 45 days, which is the limit the law allows us.

Changes to this page

If the way we handle this changes, we update this page and change the date below. Nothing here reduces a right you have under the law where you live.
